HARVARD UNIVERSITY, ALLSTON CAMPUS
BOSTON, MA | MVLA joined Allston Development Group on a multi-disciplinary team with Ayers Saint Gross and Renzo Piano Building Workshop to develop a long-range plan to guide Harvard University’s development of 200 acres of brownfields in Allston, adjacent to the Harvard Business School and Harvard Stadium. The plan proposes new streets, parks, student housing, teaching and research space, museums, athletic facilities, and neighborhood retail. MVLA developed a pedestrian “web” tied directly to water management with more resilient connections to the Charles River landscape. MVLA’s sketches helped to illustrate a variety of landscape spaces throughout the district. The plan considered over 9 million GSF of mixed-use development.
